My sister’s mother in law (Estelle Goldfarb originally from Oceanside and now Woodmere, NY) is in dire need of a kidney transplant. They have been working with Renewal (www.renewal.org) over the last 6 months to try and find one for her, but unfortunately, they haven't had any luck to date. They have had nearly two dozen potential donors step up to offer, none of them have been a match for her. The clock is ticking, and as a result, they need to widen the net of their search and try to get the word out to as many people as possible both inside and outside of the Jewish community and outside the US. The wider they go, the better chances there are of finding a potential donor.

They have also been told that at this point, the odds are better if they attempt to do a paired kidney exchange <https://www.kidney.org/transplantation/livingdonors/incompatiblebloodtype> , also known as a “kidney swap.” A kidney exchange occurs when a living kidney donor is incompatible with the recipient, and so exchanges kidneys with another donor/recipient pair. Therefore, they need to branch out and get the message out to as many people as possible in the hopes that an altruistic donor will come forward, and even if not a match for Estelle, will be a match for someone else, who will then in turn bring in a match for Estelle.

Attached is a flyer about the organization called Renewal. If you could please spread the word to anyone you think might be able to help we would greatly appreciate it.
