WHEN WILL METERED PARKING TAKE AFFECT?
 
The city's liaison related the following official notice:
As of today until further notice the Blue & White parking areas have not gone into effect yet. There will be advertisement in advance as far as all questions that the public have along with the answers, and a number to call as well. 
SUMMER AFTER HOURS BUS LINES CONTINUES
 
If you are in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, you already know
that the last buses leave for Bet Shemesh around midnight.
But during the summer months until Aug. 31st,

there is a service called 'Kavei Laylah' that serves
Route 115 - Jerusalem to Bet Shemesh
Route 211 - Tel Aviv, Ramleh, Bet Shemesh
during the early morning hours. It is served 
by the Superbus coach company.
 
MAYOR SUCEEDS IN INCREASING COALITION STRENGTH
 
In the last city council meeting, the budget just
passed by a nose due to one of the coalition
members voting against it and two opposition
members deciding to walk out for the vote.
To avoid further coalition problems, the mayor
has signed a coalition deal with HaBayit Yehudi's
two city council members and is in negotiations
with the Likud to have them join as well.

POWER CENTER TO OPEN AT END OF 4th QTR
 
As reported previously, the new Hammerman project located
at the entrance to Bet Shemesh, now known as "Shaar HaYir"
will be housing the new Rami Levi store chain. Now, it 
has been granted permission by the city to provide parking
right up to the entrance of the other shops in the promenade.
